VICTORY FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP (VFC) returns to the Mid-America Center for it's 29th professional event with VFC 29: THE RISING.

Chuck "The Reverend" Grixby will defend his long-standing light heavyweight belt against steam rolling Omaha native Demetrius "The Demolition Man" Richards. Grixby last climbed into the victory cage at VFC 26: ONSLAUGHT where he knocked out WEC vet and Salt Lake City warrior Rob McDonald in the first round with a vicious knee to the head. Richards comes to the cage with an undefeated record and three impressive TKO's in his last three fights. This will be the first head-to-head battle between the two and is expected to be one of the best light-heavyweight battles in VFC history.

A second Championship belt will be up for grabs when South Dakota native Josh Rave and VFC veteran Zach Wolff battle in the cage for the first ever VFC 135lb. Bantamweight Championship. Wolff was last seen in the cage for VFC 25: PRIMETIME, where he defended his 145lb. belt against Sean "P-Town" Wilson.

Also on the card is a super-fight between VFC veteran Jimmy Seipel and Colorado native Chase Hackett. It was just over a month ago when Chase Hackett beat fellow VFC rising star and Seipel rival Drew Dober in Denver, Colorado. After losing a hotly contested fight to Dober back in February at VFC 26, one of the last amateur fights for both fighters, Seipel has been on a terror as a pro beating both of his first two pro opponents by first round submissions. Jimmy wants revenge and a Dober rematch on the pro stage, but he knows he will have to wait until next year for any hope of that. In the mean time he has set his sights on the only man ever to beat Dober in his career, Chase Hackett. Hackett is a well-known, well-rounded fighter with an impressive 5-1 record fighting out of Littleton, Colorado. Hackett is looking to make it two for two with VFC opponents. But Jimmy Seipel has other plans. Jimmy says he is excited for the fight and pushing the limits of his training so that he can make a statement. Seipel vs. Hackett is destined to be another great match-up in the VFC cage.

VFC 29:THE RISING fight card will have ten plus fights on schedule, full of great regional and national MMA talent.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is the fastest growing spectator sport in the world and VFC is the Midwest’s premier promotion featuring the most talented fighters in the nation. The VFC is recognized as one of the main feeder programs into events such as the ever-popular Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
